French Blind Sailor Attempts Record Breaking Ocean Journey
Olivier Brisse a well known competitor with Blind Sailing International is to attempt an Ocean Journey while attempting to gain a race record
Olivier Brisse, a totally blind sailor who has competed in three international competitions of Blind Sailing International will set out Saturday September 4th with two other handicapped individuals David Viguier who has only 1 leg and Gregory Dunesme, a paraplegic in the hopes of setting an oceanic record (9,000 miles) not only to demonstrate the strength of a team created from diverse handicaps alongside 3 sailors with no visible handicaps working together in this sport but to allow the public to make the connection that such a team can work together as well in the business environment and together succeed to reach incredible goals. Each handicapped individual carries with him specialized equipment allowing each to sail as independently as possible. For Olivier it is the fulfillment of a childhood dream.
